“Here, the trees talk to me,” says Modi, who tried 12 houses before shifting to the new one immediately after the first lockdown. The scorching Kolkata heat doesn’t bother him. He prefers to meet people on the verandah of his house, which overlooks a neatly manicured lawn.
“Whatever vegetables we eat, they come from within the house,” Modi says.
